The University of Milano-Bicocca was founded in 1998 as a new public University in Milano. The University has 8 faculties with approximately 30.000 registered students. Despite its short history, the University of Milano-Bicocca has a growing role in the international scientific community.

The Istituto Nazionale Neurologico “Carlo Besta” is an internationally recognised leading centre in neuroscience and belongs to the H.P.H. (Health Promoting Hospitals) network, a project of the World Health Organization to promote healthcare. The mission of the Besta Institute is to supply the community with high quality and advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services.
